The shooting occurred at 5 p.m. on Avon Avenue, Thomas Fennelly, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
Two of the victims were transported to a nearby hospital, while one declined medical attention, Fennelly said. One of the victims was pronounced dead the next morning, Fennelly said. The name of the victim is being withheld pending formal notification of the next of kin, Fennelly said.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force is investigating, Fennelly said.
